We are Gardens

Have you ever wondered why some people are very open to you and some show you very little regard? This metaphor is for you.

A photo of a beautiful place in Thornhill Ontario that I shared on social media

We are gardens. Every human holds inside a beautiful garden. A Soul Garden. This place looks like the most beautiful place you can ever imagine, green, full of flowers, trees, and a cozy place for us to sit. We always feel beautiful inside our garden.

Since this garden is our special place we keep it surrounded by a tall wall. No one can come in unless we invite them in. It requires a trust and deep love to allow someone in. This special person will make the garden an even more cozy place to be. He will tread carefully not to ruin the hard work you created in building this beautiful place and naturally help nourish and grow your garden, forever changing you. It’s an exciting and wonderful feeling to invite someone in where we are most vulnerable. A true soulmate will always have a welcoming cozy place inside our garden.

Outside this garden there is yet another garden reserved for the other special people that we love, our family members, our friends. These people get special privileges in our life. This garden is also guarded, not everybody can come in.

Outside the second garden there is another garden for people we hold dear, acquaintances, colleagues, etc. There are many layers, many gardens all reserved for different people, all with different privileges. The outside wall is the world, people we don’t know walk by this wall.

Social media, art, writing, poetry, is sometimes a direct window opening to the soul garden. We cherish what we have inside and want to share with the world, a glimpse, a piece from this garden. Sometimes as a form of art, sometimes as a post on instagram. “Take a look at this beautiful moment, I just had to share”, “look world, my soul is finding beauty in this photo”.

We are gardens. Every human holds inside a beautiful garden.
